Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workday Analyst to lead and manage the planning and execution of Workday cutover activities. This role involves close collaboration with various teams to ensure a smooth transition and successful implementation of Workday modules. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Workday HCM and FIN, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage tasks, risks, and issues effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, participate, and manage the Workday cutover planning and execution activities.
- Collaborate with Program Teams, Technical teams, and implementer resources to build out a detailed project cutover schedule, including tasks for all areas (technical: reports, integration, security; functional: HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Workforce, Recruiting; and OCM: Communications, Change Management, Training).
- Clearly communicate the cutover plan, progress, and any issues to relevant stakeholders (business, IT, and other teams).
- Field questions and escalations regarding cutover activities and work with the cutover team to close open items.
- Manage cutover tasks, risks, issues, and project timelines to ensure progress towards cutover completion.
- Work with appropriate system owners, business and technical subject-matter experts, and workstreams to ensure cutover and system remediation processes, deliverables, and milestones are developed and completed.
- Provide comprehensive reporting of cutover activities, challenges, and risks. Develop risk mitigation approaches in coordination with the project team to ensure on-time go-live.
- Prepare and deliver metric reporting demonstrating progress against planned activities.
- Escalate items that could impact the go-live date.
- Lead and participate in cutover planning, cutover plan review, capture of cutover activity timeframes/durations, mock cutover, and cutover execution activities.
- Work alongside the Testing team to ensure all cutover activities are recorded.
- Plan and communicate Workday HCM and FIN test strategy/plans, test cycles, and test progress at each relevant stage.
- Ensure the cutover phase is properly planned and staffed.
- Coordinate with the Testing team on defect tracking: reporting, documenting, and resolving all test defects, ensuring appropriate resolution through each test phase.
- Provide daily coordination and support of all cutover-related activities.
- Hold testers and Sis accountable to the testing plan and expected outcomes.
- Evaluate test results, schedules, resources, and risks for program reviews.
- Monitor procedures and checklists to ensure all areas of the testing processes are well-defined and functioning.
- Monitor and report weekly on progress and key testing metrics, escalating potential issues or concerns to the PMO.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in Workday HCM and/or FIN.
- Experience in cutover of Workday modules, test plan creation, assistance, and execution.
- Broad overview of Workday HCM and FIN modules; generalist knowledge preferred.
- Strong understanding of business processes, break/fixes/bug identification and articulation, and basic testing methodology.
- Understanding of data migration and system integration.
- High functioning and collaborative.
- Ability to work with minimal direction and adapt to variable change.
- At least 1 Workday implementation experience preferred.
- Experience with Application Lifecycle Management is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but years of experience considered as well.
