Job Title: Maternal Newborn Nurse Night Shift Location: Healthcare Facilities Across New Jersey

Job Summary: The Maternal Newborn Registered Nurse (RN) provides overnight care for postpartum mothers and their newborns, ensuring a safe and healthy recovery. The RN assists with newborn feeding, maternal recovery monitoring, and family education.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine postpartum and newborn assessments throughout the night.
Monitor maternal recovery, pain levels, and potential complications.
Provide overnight support for breastfeeding and bottle-feeding mothers.
Ensure safe sleep practices and assist with newborn care.
Administer pain relief medications and monitor postpartum healing.
Recognize and respond to postpartum hemorrhage, infections, or neonatal distress.
Maintain accurate patient records and document all interventions.
Communicate effectively with oncoming shifts and multidisciplinary teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Maternal Newborn, Postpartum, or Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital.
Strong understanding of maternal and neonatal health, breastfeeding support, and postpartum complications.
Education & Licensure:
Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Required Certifications & Licensure:
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA
New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
Work Schedule:
Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Availability: Night
Requirements: Every other weekend, holiday shifts required, no on-call
