Location: Orangeburg, SC
Shift: 2nd Shift (Most Urgent Need)

Position Overview:

The Electronics Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex electrical and electronic issues beyond the scope of plant electricians. This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical expertise, working closely with the engineering team to ensure optimal equipment performance, safety, and reliability .

This position reports directly to the Plant Engineering Manager and will play a key role in PLC programming, process instrumentation, electronic calibration, and control system troubleshooting .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, program, and maintain PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) using manufacturer software (preferably Allen Bradley ).
  • Calibrate, install, and repair process instrumentation including PID loop controllers, I/P and E/P converters, pressure transducers, and pneumatic actuators.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot electronic scales and weighing devices , ensuring compliance with ISO 9000 standards.
  • Set up, program, and repair AC/DC drive systems and related control instrumentation (tach generators, pulse encoders, strain gauges, dancer control systems).
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot laser micrometer measuring equipment and associated control instrumentation.
  • Assist Facilities Engineering in new equipment specification, installation, and commissioning .
  • Support Process Engineering and Production teams in process optimization and design modifications.
  • Communicate with vendors for equipment repairs, purchasing, and technical support.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or higher in Industrial Electronics Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial electronics, electrical maintenance, or PLC programming preferred.
  • Allen Bradley PLC programming experience strongly desired.
  • Proficiency in HMI programming, Ladder Logic, and industrial automation .
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with industrial test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, recorders, megohmmeters, and low-resistance ohmmeters .
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
