Job Overview:
Provide supervision and coordination of the Athletic Department s overall sports health program with focus on Women s Volleyball and Women s Golf, including, but not limited to: risk-reduction, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries and illnesses, short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student-athletes, and athletics-related health care administration in consultation with other qualified medical personnel.
Qualifications:
Required:
National Athletic Trainers' Association BOC certification in good standing.
New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners Athletic Training License in good standing.
Active AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
Master's degree in athletic training or related field of specialization.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Experience managing multiple tasks while working proficiently under pressure.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with efficiency and effectiveness.
Commitment to maintain confidentiality and discretion in managing personal health information.
Ability to routinely lift equipment and supplies, up to 50 pounds, from ground and assist with ambulation of injured individuals.
Preferred:
Professional experience as an Athletic Trainer working with highly motivated individuals in collegiate or elite athletic settings.
Blood Flow Restriction Certification via accepted education/training provider.
Titleist Performance Institute Level 1 and Level 2 Certification
Scheduling Requirements:
Non-traditional working hours, holidays, evenings, and weekend required.
Travel required during specific periods based on competition schedules.
Essential Functions:
Provide athletic training services for the University s athletic department.
Attend scheduled team practices and competitions, home and away.
Manage the comprehensive health-related needs of the assigned team roster(s) through professional interaction and patient-centered approach.
Provide first aid and emergency medical care to athletes through accepted medical standards.
Develop and/or implement procedures and routines for attending to and dealing with minor day to day injuries (i.e., modalities, taping, bracing, padding) of athletes.
Provide rehabilitative services for athletes, under the direction of team physicians and in coordination with staff physical therapist. Provide reports when requested.
Within the bounds of confidentiality and other related matters of propriety, make sure that relevant information is set forth and presented to coaches, academic support, and health service providers, as well as to athletes and their family members in a clear, concise, and cogent format.
