We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Teacher for grades 6 through 12 to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate is committed to cultivating a love for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures, while supporting students in developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills at a high academic level.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum
Create a positive and respectful classroom culture that promotes learning and student engagement
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including heritage and non-heritage speakers
Incorporate technology and interactive methods to enhance language instruction
Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents
Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and parent communication
Participate in school-wide events, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions
Uphold the mission and values of Mater Biscayne Middle & High School
Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred)
Valid Florida Teaching Certification in Spanish (Grades 6–12) or eligibility to obtain one
Demonstrated fluency in Spanish and strong command of grammar and language mechanics
Previous teaching experience at the middle and/or high school level preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to fostering a culturally inclusive and respectful environment
Familiarity with Cambridge or AP Spanish curriculum
Experience working with English Language Learners and multicultural student populations
Willingness to lead extracurricular activities or clubs related to Spanish language and culture
